Members as volunteers

As well as our support to science through grants, our members often volunteer to undertake fieldwork in support of suitable projects.  Usually involving survey work or netting and ringing, these can be in the UK or much farther afield.   Recently these have included an annual trip to Madeira to support Frank Zino  in the work to protect Zino's Petrel and regular collaboration with the RAF Ornithological Society to conduct bird survey work in Shetland and other Scottish islands.
